Color and Style of Clothes...journal #28
First, let look at the colors of clothes which someone wear. If they usually wear some clothes with dark color I can tell that they want to hide something inside their body, or they don’t want to share some private things with other people. I can say that they live inside. On the other hand, when I look at someone always wear clothes with bright colors, I can tell that they want to show something, they want to be indicated by everyone and see them. They don’t want to hide everything. Moreover they want to share with a lot people. I can say that they live outside.
Second, let look at the styles of clothes which someone wear. When I see someone who usually wears formal and polite clothes, I can tell that that they have good organization in their life. They want something in order and clearly. On the other hand, when I see someone who always wears messy clothes, I can tell that they live no in order. They want something is messy, too. They want to follow any rule of society, and they have their own rules for their life. They don’t care about anyone who is living around them.
In short, color and style of clothes can tell us a lot about person who wear it. So, when we wear something with our favorite colors and styles, that mean we will show everyone something about us.

8. Place one pile of bean sprouts towards the center of the crepe, then cover the pan tightly.
9. Turn the heat down to medium and cook for 2-3 minutes, then uncover and loosen edges of crepe and fold over with a spatula to form an omelette.
10. Transfer the crepe to a serving platter.
11. Repeat process with rest of batter.
12. Do not cover the cooked crepes or stack them (they will lose their crispness- they should remain light and airy).
13. To serve, place one crepe on a plate with some lettuce leaves, herbs also with a small bowl of nuoc cham.
14. The person cuts a portion of crepe, wraps it in a leaf of lettuce with some herbs, and dips it in the sauce.
Have a good try!

Extinct language...Journal #25
We also knew that term Mozarabic was devired form the Arabic word Musta’rib and the term Ajami. It was the Romance language which was spoken by the Christians in the muslim possessions on the Iberian peninsula. Unlike most Romance languages, Mozarabic was written in the Ariabic alphabet rather than the Latin alphabet. This language died out soon after the Arabs were driven out of Spain at the end of the 15 century. However, it still used as a liturgical language in a few places in Spain and Morocco.

Boo….Look like … me???... Journal #24
Should we hit our children??? Journal #23
In Vietnam and most of other Asian countries, hitting children is not an illegal action at home or at schools. Some people from other cultures such as American, European think that it is very cruel to hit children. They think that only parents who never love children hit their own ones. In our culture, it is not always right. Some parents love their children even more than themselves, but still punish them whenever they do something wrong. I know a story about a young man and his old mother. He was already an adult and still lived with his mom as our culture. He did something really bad and his mother used a big long stick to hit him with all of her strength. This man cried not just about what he did but about his mom. He felt that she could not hit him as hard as she could before. He realized that she was getting old and became weaker day by day because of pressure of life to raise him up. He promised to himself that he would never do bad things and would become the best person so that his mom could be proud of her son. At my point of view, hitting children is not the best way to teach them. However, it is not true that parents who hit their own children never love them. I got hit sometimes by my father when I was a kid trying to climb to the roof. Until now, I still remember that whipping. I saw tears in his eyes, tears of love and worriment.

The fires..Journal #22
Indeed, it is really dangerous even small fires. When we cook something, it can burn our hand and face if we don’t do carefully. For example, at the first time when I cooked, I was burned by fire while I took spoon from the pan. It was a bad thing for me at that time and it took a week later I became normally.
Moreover, when fires become bigger and bigger, it can burns anything even houses which are built very strong. In my mine, I still remember fires which burned the bakery in my neighbourhood. It was a great fear when I saw them which burned three houses and killed 6 people in only one night. Everyone saw them but we could not do anything, because it was too big fire. We only waited support from firemen and got out form the houses which were firing. It was a great shock for everyone in my city.
In conclusion, Fire is great invent. It can help people a lot in daily life, however, we should be careful when we use it.
Time management ...Journal #21
One of popular ways which everyone uses is planning. Students usually have a plan for spending time on activities in a day, a week, or a month. This skill can help them control the time on works which they have to do. In addition, with a good plan, they will know what they do at the special time and how much time they need to spend on that work. It helps students to raise the sense of initiative.
The second way which can help student master their time is focusing on one work and do quickly if they can. Indeed, when we concentre into one work , we can do it effectively and then we another works. We don’t need to spend many times to do the same work. For example, I want to do homework, but I also want to watch TV, so last day, while I was studying, I also was watching TV. Finally I couldn’t finish my homework although I had three hours to do that. Therefore, students can save their time very much when they focus on one work and follow this way.
The last way which can help students master their time is doing exercise everyday. At first we don’t see any relation between doing exercise and time management. However, It is really an important skill which help student have a good health to do another skills. For instance, if they don’t have a good health, what thing they can do. No thing…Right? Moreover, When students become sick, how they can do their plans. How they can focus on their work and so on.
In short, time management is an important skill for college students. Therefore, they should have plans for their time, focus on their work, and do exercise to have a good health. I think if students, you, and me follow these ways, we can use to effectively manage our time.

Essay… Journal #20
Today, foreign languages are considered as an important factor when student want to apply for job. Indeed, most of companies in my city have an investment from foreign funds. Therefore, they require their employees have to know English or other languages beside native language. Sometime these employees have to work and communicate with foreign people. For example, when my brother applies for an office job in private companies which has 50% fund from a foreign country, required my brother had to have English certificates or something like that. So, students need to study foreign languages as soon as possible. And High schools will play important role in achieving these things. Students have to study abroad languages carefully.
In addition, students usually want to go abroad to study. So English and other languages are very important. It will be the first condition when they apply for a university. If they want to have a good opportunity to study in abroad, they should have a background about the language which they speak. Indeed they will be easy to adapt to the university environment if they can speak the language in place where they live. In short, studying English and other languages are really necessaries in high school.

Journal #9 ... Vegetarian Foods
My whole family members are budist. My parents have been vegetarians for over thirty years. So, I grew up with vegetarian food. After coming to the US., I found that continuing this diet is quite difficult to me. I do not have enough time to cook and also, I have a terrible cooking skill. Fornately, my girlfriend is a very good cook, specializing invegetarian disks. Nowadays, everyone in the U.S. tend to eat more healthily. My girlfriend offers me vegetarian food at least once a week. Cooking vegetarian food in Budism has more restrictions than in other religions. Beside no meat, no seafood, onion and garlic are not allowed in ingredients. Also, Vegetarian food does not have much spices. That is why it is hard to make the food tasty. Some main ingredients are vegetables, tofu, mushroom, and dried food sold in many Asian grocery stores. With some other special ingredients, my girlfriend can make chicken soup, fish soup, fried tofu, and even fried fish with fish sauce.Of course, they are all vegetarian disks. Sometimes, she is too busy with her homework, she only gives me steamed rice and soya sauce for dinner. Still, I am happy because at least she does not let me be hungry to dead. |

Journal #7 ...My grandfather
In my life, my grandfather is really important with me. When he died, I really still didn’t know what happened. I didn’t know why he had to go far away. I still remember what was happening one day before he died. He asked me: “Do you want to eat something” when I just came home from my office. I said: “I’m full right now” then he smiled and went to bed. I didn’t know that is the last time I saw him. I took a shower, watched TV about 15 or 20 minutes, and then I went to the bed, too. And a bad day came with me, my grandfather went far away and he wouldn’t come back again. I was so sad and didn’t want to do anything. I really remembered him every time. I believe he too.

Journal #5 ...My Life In The US
Moreover, in my country I go to work and everywhere by my own motorbike, but I have driven my car to school when I live in here. So I have to take driver license and bought a car to go school and go somewhere. In addition, I used to have a lot of free time after I finished class. I could go some places where I want to go there to meet friends such as coffee shop, restaurant, and the sea. However, I rarely have free time to do some thing like that in the US, and I spend a lot of time in studying. I was really stressful at first time came here but now everything is OK with me. I will live with my best and try to overcome challenges which I have to face at this time. Although my life has had a lot of changes, but I believe that I will overcome everything and have what I need in the future.

Long Weekend (Journal #3)
We started on Friday Everning at 10:00 pm because we didn't want to meet rush hours. And it took about 5 hours to go there. When I was in near Havasu Lake, the weather was too hot. It was 106 oF. I didn't know what can I do there in that time? but now I changed in my mine. It's really fun. After a night slept well in a house for renting, we had a fun day which playing foot ball, swimming, driving jetskies very, very fast on the face of water. We also ate too much on those days. We had Vietnamese foods, Chine foods, American food and so on...
I finished a long weekend trip on Monday everning at 5:00 pm and went home at 11:00 pm. I'm so tired but I had a good time and I relax too much, so I have to do homework now at 3:00 am on Tuesday. Tomorrow, No... actually today, a busy day will be continue what happened before. But I think I will have a good spirit to study.
